Our Story

What is Solution Focused Hypnotherapy?

Solution Focused Hypnotherapy is a modern, evidence-based approach that combines the latest understanding of neuroscience with solution-focused psychotherapy and hypnosis. Rather than spending lots of time analysing problems or reliving difficult experiences, we focus on where you are now, where you would like to be, and the practical steps that can help you get there.

Together, we'll explore your strengths, resources and successes, helping you build confidence and resilience while developing new, healthier patterns of thinking.

Hypnosis is a gentle state of focused relaxation that allows your mind to become more receptive to positive suggestions. You remain in control throughout the session and can hear everything that is said. Many people describe it as feeling similar to becoming absorbed in a good book or daydream.

How does it work?

When we are under prolonged stress or anxiety, the brain naturally prioritises survival (fight / flight / freeze). This can leave us feeling overwhelmed, stuck in negative thought patterns, or reacting emotionally even when we know logically that everything is okay.

Solution Focused Hypnotherapy helps to calm the nervous system and strengthen the parts of the brain responsible for clear thinking, problem-solving and emotional regulation. As stress reduces, it becomes easier to make positive choices, sleep better, feel more confident and enjoy everyday life again.

What happens during a session?

Each session begins with a relaxed conversation about what's been going well since we last met and any positive changes you've noticed. Rather than dwelling on problems, we focus on progress and what you'd like life to look like as you move forward.

This is followed by hypnosis, where you can simply sit back, relax and listen. Most people find this deeply calming and leave feeling refreshed and mentally recharged.
